DJ Swishh – Booking Terms and Conditions

Thank you for booking DJ Swishh. These terms apply to all confirmed bookings. By paying your invoice, you confirm your booking and agree to the following conditions.

1. Booking Confirmation

To secure your event date, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required. This must be paid by the due date listed on your invoice. If the deposit is not received on time, DJ Swishh reserves the right to release the date to other clients.

The remaining balance is due no later than one day before the event and must be paid via the secure online payment link provided. If the balance is not received on time, DJ Swishh may cancel the booking and retain the deposit.

2. Services Provided

DJ Swishh agrees to provide professional DJ services for the Client’s event. This includes the setup and operation of a DJ controller, speaker, lighting, and a table, along with live music performance. DJ Swishh can also provide a basic wired microphone (2-metre cable) for speeches if requested in advance. This does not include MC services.

Lighting is provided through the Chauvet GigBAR 2 system, which includes LED Derby fixtures, wash lights, a laser, and four high-powered strobe lights, all mounted on a single bar.

3. Venue Requirements

The Client agrees to provide a flat, weatherproof, and covered space of at least 3 metres by 2 metres for the DJ setup. Access to a reliable power outlet must be available at the exact location where the DJ setup will take place.

If the event is held outdoors, the Client must ensure appropriate shelter from weather and a suitable wet weather backup plan. If adequate cover or a backup plan is not provided and the conditions are deemed unsafe, DJ Swishh reserves the right to cancel services on the day without refund, to protect equipment and personal safety.

4. Setup and Pack-Down

Setup typically takes between 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the venue. Pack-down takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. DJ Swishh may request early access to the venue if the DJ set does not begin immediately upon arrival.

5. Music Preferences and Requests

The Client may submit a playlist to help guide the musical direction of the event. We recommend submitting your playlist no later than 30 days before the event to allow adequate preparation. If another timeline has been agreed, that takes priority.

If there are specific songs the Client would like played, these must be clearly marked as “must-play.” DJ Swishh will make every reasonable effort to include these songs, but final selections may be adjusted on the night based on energy, crowd response, and overall flow.

Guests are welcome to request songs during the event, but these will be played at the DJ’s discretion based on availability, energy, and suitability for the overall vibe. By booking, the Client acknowledges that they are hiring DJ Swishh to professionally curate and mix the music in real time, rather than to play a fixed playlist.

6. Extended Hours

If the party is pumping and you’d like to extend the DJ set on the night, just let us know. While extensions are subject to availability and venue restrictions, we’ll always do our best to accommodate. If approved, an additional fee will apply, which can be settled on the night using the DJ’s payment method.

7. Payment Terms

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The deposit must be paid by the due date on the invoice to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due no later than one day prior to the event and must be paid via the online payment link provided.

8. Cancellation Policy

If the Client cancels the booking more than 30 days prior to the event, they will receive a full refund of any payments made, excluding the non-refundable deposit.

If the Client cancels within 30 days of the event, the deposit will be retained.

If cancellation occurs within 7 days of the event, the Client agrees to pay a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the total booking fee. This fee will be invoiced and must be paid within 7 days of cancellation.

If DJ Swishh must cancel due to unsafe outdoor conditions and no weatherproof backup is provided (as outlined in Section 3), the Client forfeits the right to a refund.

9. Liability and Equipment Responsibility

The Client is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for the DJ and all equipment. DJ Swishh is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur during the event. Should any damage to equipment result from negligence, guest interference, or venue staff, the Client may be held financially responsible for repair or replacement.

10. Force Majeure

DJ Swishh shall not be liable for any failure to perform under this Agreement where such failure is caused by unforeseen circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, injury, acts of God, weather events, power outages, venue restrictions, or government-enforced limitations (such as lockdowns). In such cases, DJ Swishh will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or offer a refund where appropriate.

11. Venue Rules and Restrictions

The Client is responsible for ensuring the venue permits amplified music and that DJ Swishh’s performance complies with any applicable noise restrictions or curfews. DJ Swishh will not be held liable for disruptions caused by venue rules or enforcement by local authorities.

12. Music Content

If there are any restrictions on music content, such as a preference for clean versions without explicit lyrics, the Client must notify DJ Swishh in writing prior to the event. Otherwise, music selection will be left to the DJ’s discretion based on the crowd and overall vibe.

13. Promotional Use

Unless otherwise requested in writing, DJ Swishh may use short video or photo content from the event for marketing and promotional purposes on social media or the DJ Swishh website. These will never include personal or identifying information without permission. Filming is always discreet and will not interfere with the event.

14. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia.

15. Agreement Acceptance

By paying the first invoice, the Client confirms their booking and agrees to the terms outlined in this Agreement. A link to these terms is included on the invoice and available at www.djswishh.com.au.
